Getting Started - Adding Jobs & Shifts


​Scheduling pages ("events") allow volunteers to register for unique volunteer positions ("jobs") and shifts that you create. Your scheduling page can be formatted in a calendar grid, by position or date.

Let's dive in! Go to: Events > Your Events. Click the "Jobs" link on this page. Here, you can build jobs, write job descriptions, add locations, and more.

Follow the prompt at the top of this page to begin building shifts. (Or, go to Events > Your Events > Shifts.)

​You can create individual or recurring shifts from the shift-scheduler inside VolunteerLocal.

Follow the prompts on this page to build a unique set of shifts for each job. Alternatively, you can copy shifts across jobs to duplicate 
them.

To check your progress, go to Events > Your Events. Click on the link to view (or preview) the signup page, just as your volunteers would see it.

The URL listed there, to the far right of your event, is the unique URL of the scheduling page that you just created. Share this link/URL with your volunteers to encourage them to register for shifts.
